Privacy Policy

Skatepark Finder ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile applications and website collect, use, and disclose your information.

1. Information We Collect

Location Data: We use your precise location, only while you are using the app, to show skateparks near you and calculate distances. This happens entirely on your device. Your location is never sent to our servers, and we do not store your location history.

Usage Data: We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how the app is used, such as which screens and parks are viewed, the features you filter by and the words you search for. If you are signed in, this usage data is linked to your account ID so we can understand how the app is used over time. We never send your name or email address to Google Analytics.

Crash Reports: If the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics sends us a crash report with technical details about your device and what went wrong, so we can fix it. Crash reports are not linked to your account.

Account Information: Signing in is optional. You can browse parks and add photos without an account. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive and store your email address (this may be a private relay address if you use Apple's Hide My Email), your display name, and an identifier from Apple or Google that links you to your account. We never receive your Apple or Google password. Your account also stores the parks you save and any park lists you create.

Contributions: When you add a photo, suggest park features, or report a missing park or incorrect details, we store what you send us. If you are signed in, it is linked to your account. Photos are resized and have their location and camera metadata removed before they are stored. Community photos are reviewed by a curator before appearing publicly in the app.

Update Emails: If you choose to receive updates, we use your email address to send occasional news about new parks and app improvements. You can opt out at any time by replying to any update email or contacting us. We never sell or share your email address.

Safety Ratings: When you rate whether a park feels safe, we store your vote so each person votes once per park. If you are signed in, the vote is linked to your account. If not, it is stored with a random identifier generated on your device, which is not linked to your name or email.

Feedback: If you send feedback through the form on our website, we collect your answers and your email address (only if you choose to give it). We use this only to improve the app and, if you gave an email, to follow up with you. Submissions are stored by Netlify, our website host. To have your feedback deleted, contact us using the details below.

2. How We Use Information

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

4. Your Rights

You can revoke location permissions at any time via your device Settings.

Deleting your account: You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings, Delete account (version 2.3.2 and later), or by contacting us. This permanently deletes your account, email address, park lists, pending suggestions and safety votes. Photos and park details you have already contributed stay in the app but are no longer linked to you.

You can also ask us to show you, correct, or delete any other personal information we hold about you. Contact us using the details below and we will action it.

5. Contact Us
